Rudy Giuliani, once hailed as ‘America’s mayor’, is now in critical but stable condition at a hospital. The 81-year-old was hospitalized after suffering a fractured vertebra and other injuries in a car crash in New Hampshire.
Giuliani earned the title for his leadership after the September 11 attacks in 2001. He was elected New York’s mayor in 1993 and later served as an adviser to President Donald Trump.
His current health crisis occurs alongside significant legal challenges. Giuliani faces a $148 million defamation judgment against him and has been disbarred in New York and Washington, DC.
Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani, stated, “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.” Trump expressed support, saying, “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL – AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!”
Officials have not disclosed the exact cause of Giuliani’s hospitalization or how long he will remain in the hospital. His health and legal situation continue to draw public attention.
