The Elden Ring movie will feature a star-studded cast. Directed by Alex Garland, the film is set to be released on March 3, 2028.
Produced by A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment, the movie boasts a budget exceeding $100 million. Filming will begin in Spring 2026.
The cast includes Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, and Havana Rose Liu. Other notable actors are Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.
“Elden Ring will star Kit Connor (Warfare, Heartstopper), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Paddington), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War),” said a spokesperson.
The characters they play remain unannounced. Yet, it is suggested that Nick Offerman might bring humor to the film—perhaps even wearing a pot on his head throughout.
The Elden Ring video game was released in 2022. It follows an exile traversing a world filled with monsters and demigods.
George R.R. Martin served as a worldbuilding consultant for the video game and contributed to the mythological story that the movie is based on.
This project marks A24’s most ambitious undertaking to date. The film will be shot for IMAX release.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding specific character roles.
This is a very promising update for Elden Ring fans. Creating a movie based on this vast fantasy world is daunting but exciting.
