Cher is seeking a conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, following his recent arrests in New Hampshire. Allman, aged 49, is currently in custody at a locked psychiatric hospital.
On April 17, Cher filed court documents requesting a temporary conservatorship for Allman’s estate. This comes after he was arrested for felony burglary, criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass, and breach of bail—all within just three days.
Allman receives $120,000 a month from a trust set up by his father, Gregg Allman. However, Cher’s lawyer stated that he spends this money immediately on drugs, hotels, and transportation. “Elijah has no concept of money and is unable to manage his financial resources,” the lawyer noted.
Devon Allman, Elijah’s sister, supports the conservatorship request. She expressed concern for her brother’s well-being: “It is my opinion that he is currently a danger to himself and unable to manage his life.” Cher previously filed for conservatorship in December 2023 due to concerns about Elijah’s mental health and substance abuse.
In an unexpected development, Cher recently discovered that Elijah has a daughter named Ever with Kayti Edwards—a fact she was unaware of for over a decade. Ever is now 15 years old.
Cher invited Ever and Kayti Edwards to stay at her Malibu home in September 2024. This relationship appears to be developing positively. Kayti Edwards remarked, “Cher is really trying,” indicating a willingness to foster family connections.
The situation surrounding Elijah Blue Allman remains complex and fluid. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the outcomes of the ongoing legal proceedings or the status of his mental health treatment.
