A rare May snowstorm is set to blanket parts of Quebec, defying seasonal expectations. The storm will affect regions such as Montreal, Saguenay, and Bas-Saint-Laurent.
The winter season continues with significant snowfall expected even after the spring equinox. Up to 15 centimeters of snow could fall in northern and eastern sectors of Quebec.
Montreal received nearly 10 centimeters of snow during the day due to a weather system moving from Western Canada. The storm follows a few centimeters that fell over the weekend in southwestern Quebec.
Ski resorts in Quebec are benefiting from the recent snowfall. This ensures good conditions for the end of the season.
The winter season typically ends around the Easter weekend in Quebec. Yet this unexpected snowstorm has caught many off guard.
