Its design included cutouts resembling burn marks, which may reference her upcoming single ‘Watch It Burn.’ The gown was made from repurposed Italian deadstock duchess satin, meaning no new materials were used.
Despite the controversy surrounding her, Perry briefly removed her mask to pose for photographers on the red carpet. She also wore a headpiece custom-designed by Miodrag Guberinic. The event itself raised a record $42 million for the Costume Institute in 2026, highlighting its significance in the fashion world.
Perry’s appearance comes amid allegations of sexual assault made by Ruby Rose, which she has denied through a representative. No formal charges have been filed regarding these allegations. A spokesperson for Perry described the claims as ‘dangerous reckless lies.’
