Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, Florida, just before 2 p.m. ET on March 27, 2026. The incident occurred when Woods’ Land Rover clipped a pickup truck’s trailer, causing the vehicle to roll over onto its driver’s side. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the crash.
Following the accident, Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was taken to the Martin County Jail, where he was held for a minimum of eight hours. Woods refused to take a urine test after his arrest, and he now faces charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
Woods, who is 50 years old and has won 15 major championships, had been recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and back surgery prior to this incident. He last competed on the PGA Tour in July 2024. In a previous crash in February 2021, Woods suffered significant leg injuries, which required multiple surgeries.
After the crash, Sheriff John Budenseik commented, “This could have been a lot worse,” highlighting the potential severity of the situation. Woods was seen leaving the Martin County Jail after his arrest, and former President Donald Trump expressed concern, stating, “I feel so badly he’s got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that’s all I know.”
Details remain unconfirmed regarding whether Woods was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Investigators have indicated that they do not believe he was impaired by alcohol, but possibly by medication or drugs. As of now, no definitive results will be available regarding what Woods was impaired on at the time of the crash.
