Samsung is considering adding a fourth model to the Galaxy S27 lineup, which would introduce a new lower-priced Pro model that does not include or support the S Pen. This potential addition comes just months after the release of the Galaxy S26 lineup.
In recent developments, Samsung has raised the prices of several Galaxy phones already on the market. For instance, the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 1TB has increased to $2,499.99 from $2,419.99 in the U.S., marking an increase of $80. Similarly, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 512GB now retails for $2,199.99, also reflecting an $80 price hike.
Samsung’s co-CEO TM Roh acknowledged the challenges posed by the global memory shortage, stating that “no company is immune” to these pressures. This situation has prompted the company to revise prices for already released units.
In Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have also seen price increases. The Galaxy S23 series, which was released earlier, typically loses half its value within the first year, with a reported 49.7% value loss at six months and 55.5% at twelve months.
Despite these price adjustments, the Galaxy S24 is still considered a worthwhile purchase for consumers, with expectations of receiving updates for five more years. Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is noted as the last model to feature a Bluetooth S-Pen.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra, released earlier this year, includes a privacy display, showcasing Samsung’s focus on enhancing user security and experience.
Details about the features of the Galaxy S27 lineup remain vague, and specific upgrades to performance, battery life, and AI features have not yet been confirmed. As Samsung continues to navigate the evolving smartphone market, observers are keenly awaiting further announcements regarding the new models and their specifications.
