Pascal-Pierre Paillé, a former federal deputy for the Bloc Québécois from 2008 to 2011, has been arrested by the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) on serious allegations of sexual crimes involving minors. The charges against the 47-year-old include sexual assault in a position of authority, sexual contact, and sexual assaults.
The incidents in question allegedly occurred during two separate events: one between January 1 and June 25, 2006, and another in August 2024. The alleged victim, identified as Mathys, was 14 years old at the time of the August 2024 incident.
According to reports, Mathys claimed that he had a ‘match’ with Paillé on the Grindr app, leading to a complete and consensual sexual relationship in a wooded area in Quebec. However, following the incident, Mathys expressed regret and sought to discuss the matter with Paillé.
Mathys eventually reported the incident to an adult, who then contacted the police, prompting the investigation that led to Paillé’s arrest. An adult informed of the situation expressed surprise and shock at the allegations, stating, “I was really surprised and shocked.”
In light of the allegations, Paillé has been suspended from his position at the Centre de services scolaire de la Capitale for over a month. The suspension underscores the seriousness of the charges he faces.
Mathys stated, “It’s also for them that I decided to talk to the police,” indicating a desire to seek justice and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
As the case unfolds, observers are closely monitoring the developments. Authorities are expected to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the incidents and any potential legal proceedings that may follow.
