Maxx Crosby Trade Update
“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache,” stated Crosby’s agent, CJ LaBoy. This statement comes in the wake of the Baltimore Ravens backing out of a trade for Crosby due to concerns over his health.
The trade was set to send Crosby to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round draft picks. However, the Ravens’ medical team reviewed Crosby’s MRI and determined that the risk associated with his knee, which is still recovering from meniscus surgery, was not worthwhile.
Crosby, who is 28 years old, underwent surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He missed the final two games of the 2025 season due to this injury, raising questions about his readiness for the upcoming season.
Last season, Crosby had an impressive performance, recording 10 sacks and a career-high 28 tackles for loss. Over his seven seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, he has accumulated a total of 69.5 sacks and 133 tackles for loss, showcasing his value as a defensive player.
The Ravens, who finished tied for 28th in the league in sacks with only 30 last season, were looking to bolster their defense with Crosby. They were prepared to send the No. 14 pick in this year’s draft and their 2027 first-round pick to the Raiders for him.
Despite the setback, Crosby’s agent is optimistic about his recovery. “The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear,” Dr. Neal ElAttrache noted.
Crosby has expressed a desire to remain with the Raiders but has shown frustration with the team’s handling of his injury. A paraphrased statement attributed to him reflects this sentiment: “Man, screw these guys. They’re shutting me down. I am not about this. Hell, no. I’m not doing it. I left the facility. I’m out. I want to get traded. I’m done.”
