IRCC Issues 250 ITAs for Senior Managers
On March 5, 2026, the IRCC issued 250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) specifically for Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience. This draw marks the inaugural event for this category, which was introduced as part of the February 2026 overhaul of the Express Entry system.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 429. Additionally, applicants needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 3:10 p.m. UTC on August 19, 2025.
This new category aims to streamline the immigration process for experienced professionals in managerial roles, reflecting Canada’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled labor to support its economy.
In total, IRCC has issued 39,362 ITAs across various draw types in 2026, including categories such as the Canadian Experience Class, French-Language proficiency, and the Provincial Nominee Program.
Specifically, in 2026, IRCC issued 24,000 ITAs for the Canadian Experience Class and 14,000 for candidates demonstrating French-Language proficiency. The Healthcare and social services category received 4,000 ITAs, while the Provincial Nominee Program accounted for 1,798 ITAs. Furthermore, 391 ITAs were issued for Physicians with Canadian work experience.
The introduction of the Senior Managers category is part of a broader strategy to enhance the Express Entry system, which aims to address labor shortages in key sectors across Canada.
As the IRCC continues to adapt its immigration policies, observers are keenly watching for further updates and potential changes in the Express Entry draws. Details remain unconfirmed regarding future draws and the impact of these changes on overall immigration targets.
