Arrest of Bryan Fuentes Gramajo
On March 10, 2025, Bryan Fuentes Gramajo, 24, was arrested by Montreal police at 2:40 a.m. in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough. His arrest came after he was named Canada’s most-wanted fugitive in October 2025, following a deadly shooting incident in Toronto.
The shooting, which occurred on July 15, 2025, resulted in the death of 28-year-old Kashif Jamal Bentley-Jean. Bentley-Jean was found in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds and died at the scene. This incident was part of a troubling trend, as he was one of 21 homicide victims in Toronto that year.
Fuentes Gramajo is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Authorities believe he poses a serious threat to public safety, as highlighted by Joe Matthews, who stated, “You don’t make it to number one for stealing a car. You’re at the top of this list because we believe you pose a serious threat to any person in any place where you may be. Bryan Fuentes Gramajo fits that bill.”
He is alleged to be a member of the Montreal-based gang Zone 43, which has been linked to various criminal activities in the region. Another suspect, 21-year-old Bradley Lucate-Nicolas, was arrested in August 2025, while a third suspect, Jimmy Prudent, remains at large.
Fuentes Gramajo was apprehended without incident by a SWAT team, which was deployed due to concerns about his dangerousness. Mélanie Dupont noted, “He was arrested with the SWAT team because he was considered dangerous.” This operation underscores the serious nature of the charges against him.
Currently, Fuentes Gramajo is set to appear in court in Toronto on March 10, where he will face the charges related to the shooting. The case has drawn significant media attention, reflecting ongoing concerns about gang violence and public safety in urban areas.
